Join us this summer for 4 weeks of specialty speech therapy camps, designed to build communication confidence, motor speech skills and social connection through fun, play-based activities
North Star Speech Camp is a research-based therapy camp with fun activities designed specifically for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) or suspected CAS (sCAS). Our small-group environment ensures individualized attention with therapy provided exclusively by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists highly trained in motor speech disorders
Daily Programming Includes:
- Individual 1:1 therapy sessions
- Small-group activities to support speech skill generalization
- Literacy-based activities, music, movement and play
- Supported opportunities for natural social engagement

Camp Dates & Cost
We are excited to offer three speech camp therapy sessions:
- Audience: Children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)*
- Cost:
– Session 1: $1200
– Session 2: $1200
– Session 3: $900 - Session 1: June 15th – June 19th 2026, 8:30am – 2:45pm
- Session 2: June 22nd – June 26th 2026, 8:30am – 2:45pm
- Session 3: June 29th – July 2nd, 2026 (4 days), 8:30am – 2:45pm
- Session 4: July 20th – July 24th, 2026, 8:30am – 2:45pm
- Location: North Star Pediatric Speech Therapy, Houston, TX
- Ages: 4 – 10 years old**

What We Offer
Intensive evidence based therapy combined with fun activities:
- 1:1 Therapy: 2-3 daily individual sessions with a trained SLP in apraxia therapy
- Evidence-Based Methods: Proven approaches to support motor speech development
- Engaging Activities: Literacy-focused language, music and rhythm, motor skill activities, and creative arts
- Socialization & Play: “Lunch Bunch” social skills time, plus free play in our indoor and outdoor spaces

What’s Included
A fun camp experience with personalized items including:
- Camp Swag: A custom camp t-shirt, a summer speech folder for practice work and a camp bag
- Progress Reports: Daily reports and a weekly detailed report summarizing progress and goals
- Video/Photo Update: Snapshots of therapy in action for parents to review and celebrate progress
- Consultations: Initial and closing video consultation to discuss goals and progress
- Specialized Therapy: Hours of 1:1 speech therapy sessions conducted by an Apraxia Specialist
*Or suspected CAS (sCAS) or other speech sound disorders.
**If your child is outside the age range for this camp and you feel that they would be a good fit despite their age, please contact info@northstarpediatricspeechtherapy.com to discuss further.
Note: North Star Speech Camp may not be well-suited for children who require one-on-one support for safety, behaviors or self-care/toileting. Please contact us to discuss your child’s potential needs for camp to make sure they can be supported in the best way possible.
Eligibility, Application & Placement
Our summer camps are intentionally small and thoughtfully designed to support communication, connection and readiness for group learning.
Camp placement is based on clinical fit, not registration order.
Please review the information below before applying:
- Current North Star families are given priority placement
- New North Star families are required to complete a brief screening prior to application
- Placement is based on age, ability and readiness for a small-group setting
- If a camp group is not the best fit or reaches capacity, alternative therapy options or waitlist placement may be offered
Registration & Application Timelines
Application dates & Timelines
- Camp Inquiry / Screenings start January 15, 2026
- Camp applications available February 1, 2026
- Applications are accepted February 1 – March 1, 2026 (Applications received after March 1 will be considered for waitlist placement only pending availability)
Review & Placement Notifications
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis
- Families will be notified of placement decisions between mid-February and March 15, 2026
Not all families will be notified at the same time as camp groups are carefully formed based on overall group dynamics and readiness
Enrollment & Payment
- A non-refundable deposit of $150 per camp week is due within 7 days of acceptance notification to secure placement
- Full camp tuition is due by May 1, 2026
- Spots not confirmed by the deadline may be offered to waitlisted families
How to Apply:
- Schedule a screening if your child is not a current North Star patient (send email to schedule)
- Submit the “Camp Interest Application” that you will receive following screening call
- Submit video speech sample with application
- Receive placement notification
Note: Submitting an application early allows for earlier review but does not guarantee immediate acceptance or placement.
